Is Co-Parenting Even Possible in a Divorce Situation?

HELP ME FIND A THERAPIST

Parenting is hard.

Parenting during a pandemic is even harder.

When it comes to divorce, joint custody arrangements can be stressful and infuriating when there is contention between parents. You may worry about your ex's parenting abilities, the child support issues of your ex, or other financial matters.

While making decisions about dropping off or going out with a person can seem impossible, these are straightforward tasks to do. You can overcome co-parenting challenges and develop a cordial working relationship with your ex. We can help you and your ex to remain calm, stay consistent, and to resolve conflicts.

Why co-parenting can works

A successful co-parenting experience for everyone involved, is when parents learn to separate their personal relationships from co-parenting relationships. It helps to think of your relationship with your ex as having nothing to do with you and your interests but with your children's interests.

The divorce was not in your kids' best interest, but you can still make it work. First, a mature and responsible co-parent should always put their children's needs ahead of their own.

STEP 1: THROUGH OUR INTAKE ASSESSMENTS, SAVE 2-3 SESSIONS OF THERAPY AND IDENTIFY YOUR LEVELS OF TRAUMA

Betrayal Trauma creates feelings of hopelessness, danger, anxiety and impacts our ability to express ourselves, making it difficult to regulate our emotions. As a result, our problem solving is impaired, and we begin to shut down, lose our ability to connect to others, creating further feelings of loneliness and fear. Our assessments will identify the depth and breadth of your trauma.
