Lisa Renda is a licensed marriage and family therapist and she loves her job! The passion for her work is fueled by the wonderful changes she has witnessed in the lives of clients who previously had little hope that life could be better. Lisa has had her own private practice for 9 years and most recently founded Sequoia Integrative Therapies, a trauma focused counseling center in Tacoma, Washington. She has developed an intensive outpatient program for men struggling with active sexual addiction
which was modeled after the best holistically based inpatient programs in the United States.
Lisa has experienced within her own family the struggles and pain of living with others affected by addiction, autism, depression, anxiety and ADHD. Her counseling strengths lie in helping those that are struggling in relationships affected by trauma and addiction. Lisa is a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist through the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP). She is devoted to ongoing learning and development in my career and she has been trained in EMDR and is currently seeking new certification in a therapy method called Somatic Experiencing. Lisa believes that using holistic therapies that focus on the mind/body connection are the key to healing trauma
and living with vitality. She has had the privilege of counseling clients from many diverse cultural backgrounds and spiritual and sexual orientations. She also feels that she is good at helping clients who struggle with their sense of self bumping up against faith traditions and practices.
Lisa is an avid kayaker (in the Puget Sound in Washington state) and as a new transplant to southern Utah, she will be adapting her kayaking life to the area reservoirs. She can catch Dungeness crabs with a paddle--but not so sure this skill will transfer to catching fish! Lisa has just purchased a paddle board and hopes to put it to good use as well. She's recently moved to southern Utah for the sunshine and the ease of having an active lifestyle. Lisa enjoys hiking in the beautiful natural landscape and plans to do a lot of it. She reads (a lot), does yoga, and loves being a grandma and looking at cows and sheep in the pastures by her house.
