Jesse Slater was born and raised in Provo, Utah. He left the United States after graduating high school to serve a mission for his church in Mendoza Argentina. While there, he integrated himself into the culture and became fluent in Spanish. His keen interest in the emotional, spiritual, and mental components of addiction and recovery has lead him to the study of psychology at Brigham Young University. Recovering from an almost life-long addiction himself, he has profound empathy for those struggling and has made it his life's mission to facilitate healing. He enjoys nature, practicing mindfulness and yoga, and trying new things.
