The greatest things in this life come from authentic and responsible choices and safe and healthy connections.

I am so grateful for the privilege of working with clients as they journey to create a life that is satisfying and holds purpose and meaning. The work required in overcoming addiction, trauma, relationship struggles and emotional pain is rewarding, but can also be overwhelming at times. I am very careful to make sure every client feels a sense of safety and acceptance and that our experience together is one of healing, compassion and hope. I believe that within each of us is the capacity to do great things. As the wise Christopher Robin once said to a struggling little bear, “You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think”. My journey as a therapist started in 1999 and I have specialized over the years in the areas of addiction, impulsivity, obsessive thinking, shame, loss and grief and relationship issues including trust, communication, conflict management and parenting issues.

Additionally, I work with individuals on issues of anxiety, depression, ADHD, anger and stress, which often accompany these struggles. I completed my undergraduate work in Psychology at the University of North Dakota and my graduate work in Family therapy at Friends University in Kansas.

When I’m not at the office, I love finding things in life that bring a smile to my face and a sense of wonder and creativity.

I enjoy photography, woodcarving, fishing, playing guitar and going on adventures with my wife and four children. I love the outdoors and find great peace and satisfaction in nature, especially if there is a waterfall nearby. I have had the opportunity to meet many wonderful people as a presenter in the community on topics such as addiction, relationships, communication, stress management and increasing motivation, and overcoming fear and doubt.
